GHS Adv. 3D Art Students’ Installation

Advanced Ceramic/Sculpture 3D students along with 3D AP students created an installation piece as part of our end of the year group project. Students brainstormed ideas before deciding on sculpture inspired by artist George Segal. Students had to problem solve how to create a standing or walking figure and for it to be able to withstand pedestrian traffic during passing periods in the hallway.

They also discussed how the figures would look – what is the message we are trying to convey? As most are graduating seniors this year, they decided to use the school motto, “Enter to Learn-Go Forth to Serve”. The newspaper used to stuff some but not all figures, the grouping of the first 3 and the differences in height and body stance(especially the last figure) all have significant meanings.

This temporary installation piece is dedicated to all GHS students, faculty, staff & administration; which we call our GHS Family. Congratulations Class of 2016!!
